Tracy Chapman performed at the Goldman Environmental Prize ceremony, also known as “Green nobel” at the San Francisco Opera House in San Francisco: 7 activists from 6 nations received the world’s largest, most prestigious award for grassroots activism. Speakers this year were former Vice President Al Gore, actor/filmmaker Robert Redford, Christiane Amanpour from CNN.
Tracy performed 2 songs solo acoustic during the intermission: her classic “Talkin’bout a Revolution” and a cover of Joni Mitchell “Big Yellow Taxi”. She said she had been encouraged to find “upbeat” environmental songs and indicated there was an “opportunity out there” for song writers to come up with such music.Replace text with your entry.
