Singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman has called on Angolan concert promoters to stop running advertisements which “wrongly” claim she will play three concerts in Luanda this month.
“Despite Tracy Chapman declining an invitation to perform in Angola several months ago, the promoter announced on Oct. 13th that the performances would take place and put tickets on sale,” said a statement issued by Chapman’s camp. “To avoid any doubt, Tracy Chapman wants it to be understood that she has never agreed to perform in Angola.”
