BEN & JERRYS ONE WORLD... CANCELLED ] AUGUST 16, 2003 |
|
Here
is the note published on the official webiste:
"Ben
& Jerry's rolled into its 25th year with a sizable
birthday wish: to take a great concept known as the
One World One Heart Festival to the next level and to
a new location more accessible to its many East Coast
fans. The decision to move the company's annual festival
to Bethel Woods, the site of the original 1969 "Woodstock
Festival" with its rich heritage and unique history,
seemed just the ticket.
Right
place. Wrong time. An economic downturn coupled with
an unexpected slump in the music industry, has forced
our hand and the cancellation of this year's One World
One Heart Festival. At times like these, our loyal fans
come first. Automatic refunds will be provided to everyone
who purchased tickets."

TRACY WON'T PERFORM IN ANGOLA ] NOVEMBER 06, 2003 |
|
Singer-songwriter
Tracy Chapman has called on Angolan concert promoters
to stop running advertisements which "wrongly"
claim she will play three concerts in Luanda this month.
"Despite
Tracy Chapman declining an invitation to perform in
Angola several months ago, the promoter announced on
Oct. 13th that the performances would take place and
put tickets on sale," said a statement issued by
Chapman's camp. "To avoid any doubt, Tracy Chapman
wants it to be understood that she has never agreed
to perform in Angola."
