Tracy Chapman talks about her songs “Fast Car” and “Talkin’Bout A Revolution” to the BBC World Service as part of a program about the biggest names in world music, who talk about the songs they have written which struck a chord with a nation, or a generation. The program is called “Striking a Chord: songs that spoke to a generation, country or culture”

Tracy Chapman i love your music am really crazy 4 it,the 1st time i heard your music was 1996 talking about revolution,baby can i hold you,she got her ticket on our local FM station in Nigeria. i wanted buying it but there was no money a friend gave me a gift when i open it,it was your cassette.no matter what, you are an Africa from Nigerian, i thought u are frm Jamica.ur music touch everyone that hear it cos its talk about africa’s culture,ur culture ur home cos this were you belong, there is these saying”that music is like water u drank without taste” Tracy ur music has taste,think of the words in some of ur track like:subcity,d promise,i’m reading,crossroad,bang bang….., telling stories,smoke and ashes,speak the word,wedding song,open arms etc…. track like “THE PROMISE” is the track that makes my girl to love and trust me,cos of the promise i gave her.pls i we love to see u one on one.pls i need ur update am ur number one fans!

  5. Fast car is one of the most important songs in my life. Tracy is so smart an everything she write’s magic. I hope some day she comes to my country . I live in Brazil and i think Tracy will never come here.
