Tracy Chapman nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Album at the Grammys

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards Nominations have been announced today and Tracy Chapman is in the running for Best Contemporary Folk Album with her 8th album, “Our Bright Future”.

She’s competing with :

  • Neko Case, Middle Cyclone
  • Shawn Colvin, Live
  • Elvis Costello, Secret, Profane & Sugarcane
  • Steve Earle, Townes
  • and then Tracy Chapman, Our Bright Future

Larry Klein who produced the “Our Bright Future” album is nominated for the Producer Of The Year,

Find out if Tracy Chapman wins on the big night when the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards are aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 31st, 2010.

  2. According to [quite unreliable but I think we can believe it this time ;)] Wikipedia: “The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on January 31, 2010, and will be held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center”. What did you mean by 5nd, Ania? :)

    Some time ago I had the pleasure to attend one of her concerts performed in Leipzig/East-Germany.
    A great experience – great, powerful music.Tracy has always been one of my favourite American singer-songwriters :-)
