FAN REVIEW

  • Lauren, 07/17/03: Count Basie holds about 1500 seats, so to start, the show was intimate. Tracy was really interactive with the audience, laughing and talking with us throughout the show. She performs all of the songs from ‘Let it Rain’ so well, and with an energy that I’ve never seen from her. Her band is great and they really worked together to create an amazing soundand a great energy that had the entire theatre out of their seats for the last 3 songs. I don’t know – every time I hear hervoice come out of her mouth, I am first in disbelief, and then awe. The show was amazing, Tracy is amazing. Her enthusiasm for her performance was so obvious, and even moreso than other times that I have seen her on previous tours. Her repertiore is off the hook – the new album sounds great with its gospel style, clapping hands, and percussion. She played many old songs, all of which she sang from her soul, bringing tears to my eyes and giving me the chills. Not that I would ever think that Tracy could give a performance less than fabulous, this show was beyond my expectations. She sang beautifully acoustic without playing her guitar for parts of For My Lover, She’s Got Her Ticket, and others.(2 songs I’ve never seen her play) At the end of Another Sun, it was just her and the bongos. The band gathered closer together at the center of the stage for You’re the One, and Tracy completely rocked out at the end of Give Me One Reason. The crowd went crazy and everyone was dancing. All in all, it was the best show evuh. But I’m biased.
