 D D C
So you make a little money
        D
Off of somebody else's sweat
  C
So some people starve a little
      D
While you get fat
        Em D D Em
While you get fat

D D C
    So you grind and grind
        D
And you push and shove
      C
And claim that those most worthy
      D
Will get what they deserve
             Em D D Em
What they deserve

    D D C
It can't be true
    D D C
It can't be true
   D D Em D
Because I've seen too many hungry faces
      Em D
I've seen too many with the likes of you
              Em D D C
It can't be true
D D Em Em' Em' Em

 D D C
For you everything has it's price
          D
You give nothing away for free
    C
If silence were truly golden
    D
I guess no one could sleep
            Em D D Em
No one could sleep

 D D C
You have money at your fingertips
       D
People at your beck and call
            C
And you're fool enough to think for a price
D Em D D Em
You can have the whole wide world

    D D C
For all our sake's
    D D C
And all our lives
 D D Em
We must hope the words
                D
That come from your lips
        Em D
We must hope those words are lies
    D D C
For all our sake's
    D D C
And all our lives
 D D Em
We must hope the dreams
          D
Soulless visions that you have
Em D
   Are never realized

C
So you've got a big house
     D
And you drive a fancy car
     Em
So what if your pockets are full
    D
If you have an empty heart
C
 You snap your fingers
    D
And all the waters part
     Em
So what if the people bow down
          D
If they show you no regard
C
  Your left hand
D
Always watches your right

     Em
So what if you trust in God
    D
If you can't sleep at night
C
  You think you've made it
                  D
You think you've got what everyone wants
     Em
So what if you're a big fat man
        D
With an empty little heart

  D D C
Who has made a little money
        D
Off of somebody else's sweat
C
 Who watched the people starve
  D
While you got fat
           Em Em' Em'
While you got fat
Em D D
      You got fat
Em Em' Em' Em
      You got fat

I USED TO BE A SAILOR GUITAR TABS

              D A
I used to be a sailor
                      D A
Who sailed across the seas
                    D
But now I'm just an island
           G D A
Since they took my boat away from me

             D G A
I don't like being stationary
           D G A
I like the rocky wavy motion of the sea
          D F
I sit and rot behind these padded walls
           G
Hoping one day they'll fall
           A
And set me free

He wrote his epitaph
He wrote his eulogy
He said: I think that I can die now
My true love won't come for me

I don't like...
I used to be...
I don't like...
        D A
Set me free, set me free, set me free x3

   1.Decorate the D chords with:

         E --2^3^2-0---0--
         B ----------3----

2.You can first play the D's as Dsus2, then add decoration.
   3.Make chorus progression more elegant using: A -> A/C# -> D ->
     D/F# -> G.

Now, A/C# is x42220 and D/F# is 2(00)232. Play D/F# with your thumb
holding the bass E from above, and then finger the D like you normally do.

OK. I pluck the whole song (at least the verses), so in the D pattern case, I
pluck down the D chord then do the pattern:

E -0-----0-------0-0-----2^3^2-0---0--------------
B -----2-------2-------3---------3----------------
G ---2-------2-------2----------------------------
D -----------------0------------------------------
A -0-------0--------------------------------------

Any trace of compassion

(Am) G F

I'd rather be alone
Am G
Who said you could forget
F G Am C
You were in love with someone?

Am G

F G
Tell me what turned it to stone
Am G
Tell me what made you forget
F G Am C
You were in love with someone

(Same as verse 1)

Was I wrong to forgive
Your indiscretions?
Should I have been more hysterical
Less understanding?

(Same as verse 2)

If you're looking for a villain
Go on assume the role
But don't say that it's my fault
That you're not in love with someone

Am G
Tell me what hardened your heart
F G
Tell me what turned it to stone
Am G
Tell me what made you forget
F G Am C
You were in love with someone

(Same as previous verse)

Tell me there's someone in your life
I'll fight to keep your for my own
Tell me because I really want to know

End in C
Why you can't be in love with someone
